Fishers Needs Only Five Years to Win Indiana State High School Football Title

In only its fifth year of football, Fishers is Indiana's Class 5A champs.

Fishers beat national-ranked Lawrence Central 38-19.  The championship marked the end of a great post-season run by head coach Rick Wimmer's team.  Fishers beat four Top 10 teams in the post-season.

Wimmer is now one of four guys to be lead two schools to state titles.  Wimmer was the head coach at Zionsville when it won the 1987 Class 3A title.

Indianapolis Cathedral Wins Another Indiana High School Football Championship

For the third time in five years, Indianapolis Cathedral is Indiana's 4A champ.

The Fighting Irish beat Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger 31-20 to win its 8th overall state title.  Bishop Dwenger entered the game averaging 47 points a game.

Cathedral quarterback Conner Barthel was 23-of-34 for 335 yards and two touchdowns.

Bishop Chatard Sets State Championship Record after Slow Start to 2010 High School Football Season

The team without a home field, now owns the most state football championships in Indiana.

Bishop Chatard beat South Bend St. Joseph's 28-14 Saturday to win the Class 3A title.  It was the school's 10th overall.

Running back Ryan Kleinschmidt carried the ball 41 times for 247 yards and two touchdowns.  His 41 carries set a new 3A record, while his yardage tied the record.

Bishop Chatard finishes 11-4 after a 1-4 start.
