Warren Central came into Friday's showdown with Carmel nationally-ranked and #1 in Indiana's Class 5A...and averaging 55 points a game. Carmel (5-2) kept the Warriors under their scoring average, but could muster enough of its own offense in a 28-0 loss.

Cathedral Wins #600

Congratulations to Indiana's "First School of High School Football". Cathedral High, which began playing football in 1919 beat Carmel 13-7 Friday night for it's 600th victory.

Another Belden To Coach In North/South All-Star Football Game

Former high school stars from around the Hoosier State will get one more chance to strut their stuff before college in the July 15th Grange Insurance/FCA North/South All-Star Star Classic at Carmel High School. Players will report for practice on Sunday at the University of Indianapolis, and so will Westfield High head coach Bo Belden, who will serve as offensive coordinator for the South squad in this 40th annual clash between the North and the South.

Belden is the son of Indiana Hall of Fame coach Jim Belden, who coached his son in the 1987 game won by the South.

Warren Central Loaded With Talent

The national recruiting spotlight is shining brightly on Warren Central. The Warriors, who have regularly found their way in many national high school football Top 25 rankings, have five blue chippers, who are catching the eyes coaches from east to west. And with the cupboard full, Warren Central should have another shot at a mythical national championship.

Kankakee Valley High School Names New Head Football Coach

Former Kankakee lineman Mike Peo has been named as the new head football coach for the Kougars. Peo played for KV in the mid-90's, and hopes to build on last year's 7-4 finish under Bob Prescott.

Wright Says It's the Right Time To Leave Warren Central

From one state champ to another...that's the best way to sum up what's going on in Kevin Wright's life.

The head coach of Warren Central, the three-time defending 5A Indiana champs, has resigned to take over the Union High School program in Tulsa, Oklahoma that has won the last two 6A state championships.

North Central In The Market For New Head Football Coach

Rick Streiff has stepped down after four years of leading North Central to go and coach his 9-year old son's football team. Streiff retires with a career record of 143-69, which includes four state titles at Cathedral in 1992, 1996, 1998 and 1999. His record at North Central was 19-25, but he increased the Panthers' win total each year from one in 2002 to five in 2003, then six in 2004 and finally seven last season.
