Indiana High School Football State Tournament Begins

Indiana's second season begins Friday night with the start of the IHSAA state football tournament. 318 teams open sectional play with the goal of advancing to championship weekend Thanksgiving weekend at the Lucas Oil Stadium.

Pike improved to 3-1 Friday night by outscoring Lawrence Central 35-32. The key, according to the Indy Star, was the big play of a little man Cameron Crabtree, who rushed for more than 300-yards and three scores.

Luck of the Irish Runs Out in Loss to St. X

The third time wasn't the charm for Indianapolis Cathedral Saturday, as the Irish saw their great start hit a speed bump in the quadruple-header known as the Horseshoe Classic at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indy. St Xavier (Cincinnati, OH) moved to 2-0 with a 19-10 over Cathedral. Cathedral entered Saturday's game having beaten #1 5A teams Carmel and Warren Central on back-to-back weekends to start the season.

The loss isn't a bad one for the Irish since St. X opened the season by beating nationally-ranked Colerain. The Indy Star has the game story.

Carmel started the season in the top spot...and lost. Warren Central moved-in to the #1 spot after Week 1...and immediately lost. Center Grove took over at the start of this week. Friday night, Center Grove lost to pre-season #1 Carmel 17-14. Check-out the Indy Star's game story.
