Fort Wayne Bishop Luers is now tied with Bishop Chatard and Sheridan for the most Indiana high school football championships.

The Knights beat North Putnam 26-14 on Friday to capture the Class 2A state title, the schools 9th overall.

Bishop Luers only led 7-0 at the half, but scored on its opening the drive of the second half on the way to a 20-0 lead.  North Putnam's Caleb Vondersaar picked-off three passes in the game to set a 2A championship game record.  The three interceptions also tied the all-class finals' record.

The Knights and Sheridan may fall from the top spot of the championship hill if Bishop Chatard beats South Bend St. Joseph's Saturday in the Class 3A title game.
