Center Grove won its first Indiana state title Saturday and made history along the way. The Trojans rallied from a 19-point deficit with a little less than nine minutes to go in the game on the way to a 36-33 win over defending state champ Carmel at Lucas Oil Stadium. For the second straight week, Indianapolis Cathedral took down an undefeated team. The reward...the school's 7th Indiana high school football championship. Cathedral (12-2) beat Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger 10-7 for the state's 4A title. Click here for a game story.
It's believed to be the fastest run to an Indiana high school football title. On Friday, Heritage Christian beat Cass 17-14 for the Class 2A title giving the Eagles a state title just seven years after starting the program. Last year Heritage Christian lost in the state finals to Fort Wayne Bishop Luers. Click here for game story.
Sheridan's string of three straight Indiana high school football championships came to an end Friday. Cardinal Ritter scored the game-winning touchdown with 40 seconds to go in the game to lift the Raiders to a 34-27 win in the Class A title game at Lucas Oil Stadium. The loss closes out a four year run for Sheridan, which saw the program go 56-4 with a 44-game win streak. Click here for game story.
Heritage Christian is hoping to improve upon last year's 2A runner-up finish when it plays Cass in the Class 2A Indiana high school football championship game at Lucas Oil Stadium. Cass will be playing in it's first title game. Both teams have identical records. Click here for a preview.

While all the big boys in Indiana soak-up the "pub" in Indiana, tiny Class A school Sheridan just keeps chugging along. Friday night the Blackhawks beat Southern Wells 48-14 to advance to next week's title game where they will seek their fourth straight championship and 10th overall. Sheridan will face Cardinal Ritter Friday at Lucas Oil Stadium. Sheridan and Ritter faced each other in the 2006 title game, which was won by Sheridan. Speedway continues speeding toward a possible trip a couple of miles away to Lucas Oil Stadium and a berth in the Indiana Class 2A championship game. The Sparkplugs (9-3) won the Sectional 30 championship Friday night beating Monrovia 34-16 giving head coach Denny Pelley has 250th career victory and the school its fifth sectional title in six year.
